When Penang entered MCO Phase 3. The Churches in Penang welcome back parishioners to their respective Parish. It was a great joy to many who were able to attend mass and to receive the Eucharist once again.
Especially, The Church of the Holy Name of Mary, Permatang Tinggi, Bukit Mertajam, on the 30th October, 2021, she welcomes 5 students from the English Speaking Community, who received the Sacrament of Confirmation under strict observance of the SOPs.
They are the first batch to received the Sacrament of Confirmation during this period of the Pandemic.
One of the student shared that :
“Life was not easy as we faced many obstacles during the journey of preparing, as physical catechism class were postponed but thanks to the technology of today, we were able to have online classes though many times we faced unstable internet connections. Even though we couldn’t meet face to face with our friends and teachers, the classes were lively and exciting. We are happy and proud to be the First batch and would like to express our utmost gratitude to our teachers for their dedication and efforts to conduct the online classes and the guidance of our Parish Priest, Fr Louis Loi, who administered the Sacrament of Confirmation. Thank you.”
